Therapy for Adults & Teens with ADHD and Anxiety in Virginia

Hey there!

Being a human is hard. It seems like every time we turn around there is another demand on our plate from school and work, to a global pandemic, to regularly brushing your teeth. You’ve found that in the last few years the systems that got you through have started to deteriorate. Before, you felt like you pretty much had it together, but lately it feels as if you are just stumbling through your weeks with no end in sight.

The traditional organizational and motivational tips and tricks don’t ever seem to work which just makes you feel worse about yourself. It seems like everyone else has figured it out but you just can’t get it to click.

I’m not looking to change you, I’m looking to uncover the real you.

I get it. You are coming to therapy because something needs to be different and we will absolutely tackle whatever that is.

But sometimes therapists and doctors focus too much on what is “wrong” or “broken” and it can leave clients feeling terrible about themselves.

My approach focuses on your strengths and how we can leverage those while we address the areas for improvement. You are a phenomenal human being, even if you can’t feel it yet.

This is your space and that means that we are going to start with whatever is on your mind. You’ve spent years trying to “stop talking” and “tone it down” - this is your time to let it out!

This allows us to go wherever is most important in the moment. That might be something that happened 15 years ago or earlier today. It might be a one time event or a feeling that has stuck with you for a long time that you just can’t seem to shake. There is no topic off limits and no “right” or “wrong” way to approach a session. I encourage folks to just allow themselves to show up as themselves instead of overthinking how they “should” do therapy.

My training and over a decade of experience means I have the expertise you need and deserve when restructuring your life to work for you.

But at the end of the day, you want to know that you are working with someone who “gets” what it means to be struggling on the inside but desperately holding it together on the outside. I get it because I’ve devoted my entire career to helping the folks who are historically overlooked and as a result don’t get the support they deserve.
